I was able to clear 465 today in pole vault although the running wasn’t that good today either. It does look promissing though for the Finnish championships. I should have good chances to use a stiffer pole once the running is in better shape. We got a new 4m women pole vaulter as Tiina Taavitsainen [...]

Went to Lahti today to run 60m and 60m hurdles with poor results. I stumbled on the first hurdle and that was about the hurdles. I guess the worst time ever 9,49. My nervous system is quite stuck at the moment. 60m was really anemic with a result of 7,63. I haven’t run that [...]

Did wall climbing today for the second time in my life. It’s quite fun but once you start learning your arms are already too broke to climb. It’s especially tough for the fingers before you get used to climbing. We climbed in Helsinki Climbing Centre, which is the biggest climbing centre in Scandinavia. One hour [...]

Forgot my phone at home so I was unable to blog on site. Day started with 5 hurdles and it felt like 5 too many. My time was only 9,30 when Kelo did 8.57, Lindlöf 8.60, Miihkinen 8.77 and Nurmi 9.40. Pole vault lasted some three hours as all the classes competed at the same [...]

Almost identical results compared to last year’s heptathlon in Turku. I was pretty satisfied with the 60m run; of course the time could be always better but the run was technically ok. Physically I didn’t feel myself very competitive. Therefore the results were satisfactory. All the events seemed to be technically on a steady level. [...]

Here is the 2nd heat: kelo 7.30, Lindlöf 7.47 and Miihkinen 7.49. I did 7.51 winning the first heat. Nurmi was second with 7.65. Similar start compared to last year. Next photos and comments in my flickr album as the day goes on.

Added a link to a French translation of my blog. With Altavista Babel Fish you can translate text or full web pages to and from several languages. At the moment there are problems with some languages. There are also other online translation tools that you can use (e.g. Google). They are pretty handy if you [...]

New indoor hall has just opened in Espoo a couple of days ago. Today people were able to take a look inside for free with presentations etc. I took advantage of it and visited the new Esport Arena. I must say it’s fairly interesting. On the first floor there are four indoor bandy fields in [...]

My indoor season starts on weekend with heptathlon organised by Helsy in Helsinki. Timetable and other related information can be found here. I heard this morning that there should be a very nice amount of participants especially for younger classes. On the same weekend there is also indoor combined event competitions organised in Turku. Let’s [...]

I’ve had it ready for over two years and got the idea to put it online just this week. I never got opportunity to do it before I acquired my own site. I’m talking about competition search for Finnish competitions. The service is only in Finnish as the competition information is also only in Finnish. [...]
